We had never given thought to travelling to China but when the opportunity arose with the dealer incentive trip, we thought - why not? Although curious about this country, we set off with no great expectations. From the outset the assistance from Conference Resources was prompt, patient and concise, but what was to follow was even more remarkable. Everything went like absolute clockwork, from the beginning at Sydney Airport to transfers within China until our return in Australia. All carried out in a friendly, no-fuss manner. All told there were approximately 200 travellers in our group, travelling in a non-English speaking country. This involved four busloads of tourists descending on restaurants for lunch and dinner each day; accessing numerous attractions including the zoo and the Great Wall, and a jammed packed, diverse timetable to satisfy everyone over a period of six days. One can only imagine the logistics behind the scenes to this successful tour. Each restaurant was trialled with a selection of food chosen and modified to satisfy all palates; timing between venues was crucial taking into consideration the density of the traffic and English speaking, well-informed guides acquired for each bus. Conference Resources’ most amazing feat was organising a celebratory dinner on the last evening actually on the Great Wall. The entertainment blew us all away and included a group of very young children playing small piano accordions and singing songs from the Sound of Music; jugglers; acrobats and two lady orchestras from the Conservatorium of Music. As well as the entertainment, food had to be shipped in along with the waiters and waitresses. It was an absolutely surreal feeling to be dining in such surroundings. We found China to be amazing – ancient cultures mixing with new cultures; old community lanes of tiny houses overshadowed by towering apartments and luxury cars sharing highways with push bikes, scooters and three wheel vehicles of all shapes, sizes and age. Travelling in such a strange, hugely populated country was made all the more enjoyable by the fabulous organisation of Paul, Ian and Samantha. We have never experienced such skilful organisation delivered by such a capable and professional people. Thank you to Paul and his great team.
